This June I traveled down to the Limpopo of Area of South Africa. Ever since a little kid I also had a desire and dream to hunt Africa, and well it came true! I chose TDK Safaris because of the many different packages and animals they had to pursue! The prices were affordable and the accommodations were incredible! I had my own chalet with my own bed, own bathroom, my own house pretty much!! The food was unbelievably good, everything was fresh and tasted great! The hunt was truly incredible, we saw every animal you could think of! It was breath taking! In the mornings we would spot an stalk, then move toward the blinds later in the morning as it started getting hotter, after lunch we would sit in a blind and see literally hundreds of animals! I highly recommend this trip, and highly recommend booking with TDK Safaris for your next adventure!
The Warthog was definitely the most interested animal that I hunted while on my dream trip! These guys were a lot smaller than I imagined, they are a lot more skittish than i had in mind, and they are fast, and very defensive. I thought that the Warthog would be the number one recommended prey because there was so many of them, however the guides told me that nothing messes with them because they are very defensive and deadly. The tusks on these Warthogs are seriously razor sharp, and with one quick stab could cut you wide open. I remember spot and stalk through the thick brush trying to get the wind in our favor to try to get on some Impala or Blesbok, and you would start to hear something growling within 20 yards of you, and turn to the noise of the animal and there would be a Warthog growling and sizing you up, these animals are scary! Not to mention that, they are very very tough, the Warthog I was fortunate enough to harvest, I made a perfect heart shot on the animal, he bled like crazy on point of impact, and the blood trail was unreal, a blind man could of followed it! We found the Warthog probably 300 yards from where I made the shot, and that was the end of that story! These are some very cool and intriguing animals, and I am blessed to have harvested one!
