Our Over-The-Counter bear hunts take place in August and October in Central Arizona. All hunts are spot and stalk style. We hunt from the high desert prickly pear to the top of the Mogollon Rim’s oaks. Boone & Crockett bear country our state offers predominately color phase bears.

Season Dates: The late summer August rifle hunts are prime time for bear activity. (6) day guided hunt dates occur in early August these hunts offer the highest chance of success but are limited in availability. High harvest rates in the early season generally restrict these hunts to the minimum allotted days by the AZGFD.
(Aug 5 – Aug 18, Aug 19 – Sept 8)

The late season offers more hunt availability and typically larger bears (body size). The rifle hunts begin the Friday following the early season trophy bull elk hunts and run through December 31st. Early fall hunts are (6) days with the option of extending the hunt additional days. (Sept 30 – December 31)

OTC hunts are based on a first come first serve basis.
